- Changes in transportation will be accepted until 2:30 p.m. and must be in writing, either a handwritten note from the parent/guardian or an email to TLE receptionist Ursula Villarreal at tletransportation@splendoraisd.org. For student safety and security, no phone calls will be accepted for transportation changes.
- Should a student need to be checked out of school early for a doctor's appointment, etc., the student must be checked out BEFORE 3:30 pm.
- Due to safety issues and traffic flow, after 3:30 pm, students MUST be picked up through the car rider line.
Students cannot be dropped off until 7:50 am. For the safety of the students, they must be dropped off through the car rider line and should not be let out in the parking lot. If your student will be a walker or bike rider, a permission slip must be filled out.
Walkers and Bike Riders:
If you live in the neighborhood, your child can be a walker or bike rider, but we must have a permission slip on file. Crossing guards will be stationed at the crosswalk in the morning from 7:50 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. In the event of thunder and lightning, crossing guards will not be at the crosswalk.
In the afternoon, a Timber Lakes Elementary staff member will escort walkers and bike riders across the street and into the neighborhood. Please wait for your child at the park. You are not permitted to park in the staff parking lot to wait for your walker/bike rider. If your child is a pre-k or kindergarten student, they will need to be released to an adult across the street and will not be left to walk alone. With your permission, they will be allowed to walk with an older sibling. Walkers and bike riders will not be released after school if there is lightning. Please stay weather-aware and contact the front office if you require alternative transportation due to lightning.
If you would like your child to be a walker or bike rider, a permission slip must be filled out.
Car Riders:
- Students should arrive by 8:35 am. If arriving after that time, parents must park and walk their student into the school.

- Enter the car-rider drop-off lane
- Stay in line and proceed in a single lane to the drop-off zone
- Pull up to an adult to open the car door
View the Car-Rider Pick-Up map for the afternoon
- Enter the car-rider pick up line.
- To keep traffic moving efficiently, vehicles will be double-stacked in two lanes after entering the driveway on Harrington Drive. Remain in the double-stacked lanes until reaching the merge cones located in the final curve before the school.
- Ensure your car rider tag is clearly visible so staff members can quickly identify it. At the merge cones, a staff member will call your child’s name. Your child will then be directed to the front of the school. A second staff member will call their name again and assign a cone number. At the assigned cone, a staff member will assist your child in entering the vehicle.
- Note: If you do not have a car rider tag, you will be asked to park and present your ID to a staff member at the door. The staff member will verify the ID with the receptionist, and a new tag will be issued. You will then need to rejoin the car rider line to pick up your child. You may complete this Car Rider Tag Request Form and pick up your car rider tag during the day.
- Please make arrangements to have your child picked up by 4:25 pm.
