Jackson D

Dawn Jackson

Dawn Jackson has been an educator since 2007 and has served in Splendora ISD since 2013. Mrs. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in December 2000 and her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce in May of 2017.  

Jackson began at Splendora High School, where she taught US History for four years. During that time, she became a teacher mentor and secondary Social Studies Instructional Specialist. For the next three years, she was the Humanities Instructional Specialist serving 6th-12th grade reading/language arts (RLA) and social studies teachers. As a part of the district instructional team, Jackson was honored to coach and mentor teachers, co-lead the district's Assessment Focus Group, help develop the SISD Instructional Framework, and co-lead a team studying grading systems at the secondary level. 

In 2019, Jackson was named Dean of Instruction for Splendora Junior High, and in 2020 was named the Assistant Principal of Timber Lakes Elementary. Jackson states, "it was truly an honor and a privilege to help open up TLE." She is now excited to continue that journey by serving as the principal of Timber Lakes Elementary. Mrs. Jackson is humbled by the opportunity to serve the community, families, and students. She is dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for students to help them achieve their hopes and dreams.

Assistant Principal


Stephanie Morse, M.Ed.

Stephanie Morse is a Splendora High School graduate from the class of 2002. After high school, she pursued a degree in elementary education from Sam Houston State University. Stephanie began her career as an educator in 2007 at Conroe ISD. In 2012, she returned to her roots to educate the students in Splendora ISD. She spent ten years as a classroom teacher, teaching first, second, and third grades. In 2015, Morse earned a master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership and Principal's Certification from Lamar University. She has been both an Instructional Specialist and Reading Specialist for SISD for the past several years. 

Additionally, Morse and her husband have been married since 2010. Together they have two daughters who both attend school at Splendora ISD. She feels blessed to be able to work in a district and community that helped make her the person she is today. Morse loves being able to work in a district that puts students' needs first and strives to "Cultivate Exceptional People."

Kristy Stepp

Kristy Stepp

Kristy Stepp is a proud alumnus of Splendora ISD! She began her educational career in 2011 as a secondary paraprofessional. After graduating from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2013, Stepp returned home, spending the next eight years as a teacher at Peach Creek Elementary. During this time, she discovered her passion for leading, participated in Splendora ISD's first Exceptional Leader Academy, served as a team lead, and built capacity in young educators as a teacher mentor. Stepp earned her Master's in Education from Sam Houston State University in 2019, leading up to being named Splendora ISD's Summer School Principal in 2021. She has spent the past two years as an instructional specialist at Piney Woods Elementary, establishing innovative instructional coaching practices with a focus on student engagement and data-driven instruction. Stepp resides in Splendora with her two children, who are also proud Splendora Wildcats!
