Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Important School Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
- Morning Drop-off Time: Doors open at 7:50 am. For student safety, they must be dropped off through the car rider line and should not be left unattended or allowed to exit the vehicle before 7:50 am.
- Transportation Changes: Changes must be submitted in writing by 2:30 pm. You may send a handwritten note with your child or email the front office. For safety and security, we cannot accept transportation changes over the phone.
- Early Check-out: If your child has an appointment, you must check them out before 3:30 pm.
- Late Afternoon Pickup: Due to traffic flow and safety, student check-outs are paused after 3:30 pm. After this time, students must be picked up through the standard car rider line.
Car-Rider Route
Student car riders should be picked up and dropped off at the front of the school in the car rider line. Do not park and walk your child across the parking lot unless your child arrives after 8:35 am.
Morning arrival: View morning Car-Rider Drop-Off map
- Enter the car-rider lane off Harrington Drive
- Stay in line and proceed in a single lane to the drop-off zone at the front of the school
- Staff will assist your child in getting out
- To ensure the line moves efficiently, do not park and walk your student across the parking lot.
Afternoon Pick-Up: View afternoon Car-Rider Pick-Up map
Note: Each vehicle is required to have a TLE Car Rider Tag. Families can request as many tags as needed.
- Enter the car-rider lane off Harrington Drive
- To keep traffic moving efficiently, vehicles will be double-stacked in two lanes after entering the driveway. Remain in the double-stacked lanes until reaching the merge cones located in the final curve before the school.
- Ensure your car rider tag is clearly visible so staff members can quickly identify it. At the merge cones, a staff member will call your child's name. Your child will then be directed to the front of the school. A second staff member will call their name again and assign a cone number. At the assigned cone, a staff member will assist your child in entering the vehicle.
- Note: If you do not have a car rider tag, you will be asked to park and present your ID to a staff member at the door. The staff member will verify the ID with the receptionist, and a new tag will be issued. You will then need to rejoin the car rider line to pick up your child.
- Please make arrangements to have your child picked up by 4:25 pm.
Complete the 2026-2027 Car-Rider Tag Form
- Parents are encouraged to have a car-rider tag as a backup option in case the weather prevents your child from walking or riding their bike home.
- Please stop by the front office to pick up your new car rider tags for the school year.
- Do not discard your current paper tags. Keep any additional tags in other vehicles. These will inform staff that the vehicle remains authorized even if it does not have the new hangtag.
Splendora ISD provides school bus transportation for students living outside the Harrington Trails community. Students residing within Harrington Trails must arrange to walk, bike, or travel by car.
