Leadership Announcements

I am excited to share our Timber Lakes Elementary leadership updates for the upcoming school year. We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated educators committed to supporting our students, staff, and families, and I am proud to announce that several of our campus leaders will continue to serve in their roles.

We are thrilled to welcome back Kelli Cruz as Assistant Principal, Lori Richardson as Instructional Coach, and Sandra Meekins as our Counselor. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to our Timber Lakes community continue to make a positive impact on our students and staff.

We are also excited to announce Casey Walulik's promotion to RLA/SS Instructional Coach. Casey’s passion for literacy, student success, and supporting teachers has made her a valued member of our Timber Lakes family, and we look forward to the impact she will make in this new role.

These leaders embody our mission of Cultivating Exceptional People, and we are grateful for the experience, passion, and heart they bring to our campus each day. Please join me in celebrating these outstanding educators!

Kelli Cruz earned her bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Downtown and a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

She began her career in education in 2015 and has served students and families in a variety of roles throughout her educational journey. Before becoming Assistant Principal at Timber Lakes Elementary, she served as a classroom teacher, Dual Language teacher, and 504/RTI Coordinator in Splendora ISD.

Cruz is passionate about building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while creating a positive school culture where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to succeed. As the parent of two Splendora ISD students, she is proud to serve a district that is committed to Cultivating Exceptional People.

Lori Richardson earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Tarleton State University.

She began her career in education in 2006 and has served students in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, teaching first through eighth grades in mathematics, social studies, and reading, as well as serving as a 504/RTI Coordinator. She currently serves as an Instructional Coach at Timber Lakes Elementary.

Richardson is passionate about supporting teachers and helping every student reach their full potential through high-quality instruction. She believes in Splendora ISD's mission and vision and is proud to serve the district while also being the parent of a Splendora ISD student.

Casey Walulik earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Studies from Sam Houston State University and a master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.

She began her career in education as a first-grade teacher in Dayton ISD, where she also served as a second-grade teacher and Reading and Dyslexia Interventionist. Before becoming the RLA/SS Instructional Coach at Timber Lakes Elementary, she served as Reading Instructional Coach at Tarkington Elementary and as the MTSS/504 Specialist at Timber Lakes Elementary.

Walulik is passionate about helping students become confident, lifelong readers by supporting teachers with meaningful, research-based literacy instruction. She is committed to creating engaging learning experiences that empower every student to achieve success.

Sandra Meekins is a proud graduate of Tarkington High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from California State University while completing her teaching certification. She later earned a master's degree in Education and added her School Counseling Certification.

Meekins began her career in education in California and continued serving students and families after returning to Texas in 2006. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, campus Principal, and Guidance Counselor.

Meekins is passionate about supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally while helping them prepare for future success. She is committed to building meaningful relationships and making a positive impact in the lives of students, families, and the school community.
