Last week was another productive and joyful week at TLE! It was wonderful to see so many grandparents and family members join us for our Grandparents Day Breakfast. Our students are always so proud to welcome their loved ones into the building, and it was special to see the excitement on their faces as they shared a little piece of their school day with the people they love.
Across our classrooms, many grade levels wrapped up knowledge units in RLA with engaging activities that gave students an opportunity to celebrate and apply what they had learned. We also saw so many hands-on science lessons where students were investigators, testers, problem-solvers, and critical thinkers. One of our favorite things to see is students taking ownership of their learning and proudly demonstrating what they know. We know that meaningful learning happens when students can not only tell us what they have learned, but also explain their thinking and demonstrate their understanding.
As we continue through September, we have another busy and exciting week ahead! Teachers will be reaching out to schedule parent-teacher conferences and share more about how your child is doing, what they are learning, and the ways they are growing. Thank you for continuing to partner with us in your child's education. Your support makes such a difference, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our TLE family. We are off to a great start this year, and we are excited for all that is still ahead!

On 9/11, our Student Council members had the opportunity to learn from Mr. Verdin, a U.S. Army veteran and former employee of the United States Army, about the proper way to display and handle both the American and Texas flags—with respect and honor.
Mr. Verdin generously comes to our campus each week to guide and teach our students, helping them understand the importance and responsibility that comes with leading and serving others.
We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Verdin’s continued service and dedication and for our Student Council members who proudly step up to lead our school community. ❤️💙

Attendance has been looking great. Every grade level has been ending the week between 95%-97% attendance. Keep up the great work. Remember, our August/September attendance incentive is that the top class in each grade level will receive a popsicle party.

Celebrate Freedom Week coincides with Constitution Week, established by the U.S. Congress to encourage all Americans to learn about the Constitution.
Each year, during the week that includes September 17, Texas schools honor Celebrate Freedom Week (TEC § 29.907) to highlight the values and ideals on which the United States was founded as well as the sacrifices that were made for freedom in the founding of the country. Students learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights. Students also examine the relationship between the ideas in these documents and subsequent American history.
Thursday, September 17th, students are encouraged to wear Red, White, and Blue to honor and celebrate Freedom Week.

Our TLE book fair will be open Monday, September 14th through Thursday, September 17th, 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 pm.
Open late on September 17th, 5:30 pm - 7: 00 p.m.
Parents, you may accompany your students during their lunchtime or visit our Book Fair homepage to set up an eWallet for your student.

Empathy means recognizing how someone else is feeling and showing that we care. When we practice empathy, we think about how our words and actions might make others feel.
Bullying can cause someone to feel sad, scared, embarrassed, or left out. We can use empathy to recognize when someone may be hurting and find ways to help. This might mean including someone, standing up for someone, checking on a friend, or telling a trusted adult when we see bullying.
Remember: Treat others the way you would want to be treated. A small act of kindness can make a big difference!

In celebration of Homecoming, the Splendora ISD Education Foundation is hosting a Class vs. Class Alumni Giving Challenge! Alumni are invited to donate in honor of their graduating class, and we’ll track which class shows the most Wildcat pride.
Consider giving an amount inspired by your graduation year—for example, a 1991 graduate might give $19.91. Please include your class year with your donation so your class receives credit.
The Class of 1980 has already set the bar high with a $3,800 gift supporting all 19 of our first-year teachers. Help us celebrate Homecoming by sharing the challenge with the Wildcats in your life!

- Changes in transportation should be communicated by 2:30 each day.
- If you are picking up your student early, you will need to do so by 3:30. Between 3:30-4:10, students are wrapping up the day and transitioning to their dismissal location.
